Beragam jenis benda bersejarah yang berhasil dikumpulkan di Museum Prabu Siliwangi, baik yang berasal dari warisan keluarga ataupun hasil penemuan dari berbagai wilayah, terus bertambah, namun akibat ukuran gedung museum yang tidak terlalu besar, sehingga benda – benda bersejarah yang semakin banyak jumlahnya tersebut belum tertata dengan rapih.
Hal ini diakui KH. Fajar Laksana, sebagai kolektor benda bersejarah yang juga pimpinan yayasan Dzikir Al Fath Sukabumi, saat diwawancara didampingi tim BRIN, menurutnya, tempat yang ada saat ini lebih cocok disebut gudang bukan museum.
“Kami terkendala kondisi tempat, bisa dilihat penataan benda yang masih bertumpuk, tapi Insya Allah tahun depan kami bisa mewujudkan keinginan untuk memiliki tempat yang lebih luas, agar benda bersejarah ini dapat tertata dengan rapih,” ucapnya.
Diungkapkan, benda bersejarah yang ada di museum tersebut 50% berasal dari Jawa Barat dan Banten, terbanyak dari wilayah Cikakak Palabuhanratu, ada juga dari Jawa Tengah yang dititipkan pengunjung kepadanya.
KH. Fajar Laksana sebagai pemilik lembaga pendidikan, juga pendiri dari Museum Prabu Siliwangi sudah selama 30 tahun mengumpulkan benda bersejarah yang berkaitan dengan Prabu Siliwangi.
“Semua benda ini berasal dari warisan keluarga juga informasi dari masyarakat,” katanya.
Berangkat dari rasa ingin menyelamatkan juga bertanggungjawab untuk melestarikan benda – benda tersebut, lanjutnya, maka pihaknya mengundang BRIN untuk melakukan penelitian terhadap berbagai jenis benda bersejarah yang ada di Museum Prabu Siliwangi, sehingga dapat ditampilkan sebagai bagian dari sarana pendidikan.
“Penelitian oleh BRIN ini, agar kami tidak salah menginformasikan kepada masyarakat tentang semua benda – benda ini,” jelasnya.
Fajar mengaku terdorong untuk terus membenahi Museum Prabu Siliwangi yang didirikannya tersebut mengingat besarnya minat warga terutama para pelajar untuk mengunjungi museum tersebut.
“Museum bukan hanya sebagai tempat wisata, tetapi menjadi pusat pendidikan bagi masyarakat yang berkunjung kesini, sehingga tahu akan sejarah masa lalu,” pungkasnya. (Ald)
